Since ancient times, mankind has attempted to make cosmetics to improve the skin and to hide the visible effects of ageing. The bitter truth is that, for the most part, cosmetic creams remained simple old-fashioned moisturisers offering "Dreams of Youthful Skin" wrapped in progressively more modern and more expensive containers. Enter, Environ Skin Care Products.
The introduction of vitamin A into the formulation of skin care products heralded a new era in the treatment of sun-damaged skin. Although some cosmetic houses were using very low doses of vitamin A in their skin care products in the 1980s, Dr Des Fernandes, a prominent Cape Town plastic surgeon, was the first person in the world to introduce vitamin A in high effective doses. This range established Environ® as a leader in skin care.
The Environ® skin care range was first formulated as a result of Dr Fernandes' misfortune when he attempted to treat the melanoma of two young, charismatic patients, who both died before they were twenty-three years old. Such a horrifying experience leaves an indelible scar on one's life as a doctor. For this reason, he started to study the mechanism of skin cancer and the skin – and thus Environ® was born.
Why use Environ Skin Care Products.
Ageing is a chronic disease that needs daily treatment starting before the visible signs show, after all prevention is better than cure. As we get older, more intensive treatment is required. Daily treatment using the Environ® range will help reduce and delay the signs of photo-ageing.
Environ® skin care products have been formulated to combat and relieve the harmful effects of the harsh climatic changes of today's environment specifically pollution and ever-increasing doses of radiation from the sun due to the thinning of the protective ozone layer. Added to these are the modern-day effects of social and work stresses and poor diet.
The Environ® products offer a definite regime to nourish, protect and maintain a healthy, youthful and beautiful skin. Each product is made from the highest quality ingredients. They are mostly free from fragrance, preservatives, colourants and animal extracts.

Combine the Environ® Ionzyme® DF machine for treatment.
The Environ® Ionzyme® DF machine is a patent pending machine which provides facial treatments that are at the forefront of scientific skin care. The machine introduces the use of active Sonophoresis and intensified Iontophoresis treatments, and is therefore possibly the most advanced penetrant-enhancing machine available in the world today.
Specific Environ® products used in these treatments contain the optimum strengths of vitamin A and C plus additional growth factors. This creative system enhances the penetration of these products through the skin providing better penetration of the active vitamins and essential factors into the skin. This technique is crucial because skin has a natural, waterproof barrier that hinders the penetrations of vitamins.
The Ionzyme® DF machine manages to overcome this resistance with two tried and tested methods:
Iontophoresis – involves the use of an electrical current to facilitate greater penetration of vitamins into the skin. With conventional iontophoresis, changes are very much slower, whereas with the Ionzyme(r) DF machine, the client will notice that the skin looks and feels younger within two or three treatments.
Sonophoresis – involves the use of sound waves to transport vitamin molecules through the skin. The sound used is the same as the sound made by dolphins, which produces better penetration through the skin than conventional Ultrasound.
Iontophoresis is used for relatively large surface areas such as the face and neck, whereas Sonophoresis is used on limited areas such as the upper lip and the concentration of character lines around the eyes, on scar tissue and on pigmentation marks. Both methods can be combined, where necessary, for intensive treatments.
The treatments are designed to stimulate maximum thickening of the skin, normalisation and improvement of collagen and elastin, better control of pigment production, restoration of normal blood flow and proper oxygenation of the skin.
How often should I receive Environ® Skin Care treatments.
One should try to schedule a treatment at least once or twice a week.
A minimum of twenty-four treatments is recommended to afford the desired results. Thereafter, plan at least one treatment a month with an occasional booster course of one per week.
